The students love looking at the two cups and comparing them! They are amazed at how tall the plant in the dark is growing and how green the plant is that is in the window!

We have 5 little caterpillar friends in our classroom and boy oh boy they are growing fast! We decided to come up with names for them! Meet: Pressy, Feather, Jane, Oshawott, and Skippy John Jones!
This week we planted a garden! Can you believe it?! We planted radishes, carrots, lettuce, and spinach and discussed which vegetables will produce underground versus ones that produce on top of the soil.
One student asked if seeds need light to grow so we conducted an experiment to test our hypothesis that they do. We planted seeds into 2 cups and put one by the window and one in the cabinet. We can't wait to see our results! We also made our very own Greenhouses and planted pea seeds in them! They are already growing!! Our last activity we did was Jar planting! We took paper towels and soaked them in water and placed them in a jar. We then dropped pea seeds down in the bottom to see if they would sprout. Believe it or not, they HAVE!! The great Dr. Seuss once said, "Why fit in when you were born to standout?". We did just that! This week was all about expressing ourselves with our favorite socks and hats, imagining all the places we could go, and getting tongue-tied while reading the famous books. You can't read Dr. Seuss books without rhyming, so we worked together to make rhyming words!
