This week we got to be investigators while looking at pumpkins! We compared the outside of different pumpkins, and wondered what could be inside of it! To find out, we cut a whole in the top of the pumpkin and stuck our hand inside without looking. We used our senses to tell us how it felt! "Slimy, yucky, and a lot of pumpkin tornado damage" were some of the things the students said! We also built our very own Pumpkin Patch in the classroom that was filled with fall leaves and pumpkins! We even turned a pumpkin into a geoboard and made shapes with rubber bands! One student asked how big a pumpkin is so we decided to find out! We used unifix cubes to measure the height of it and used yarn to find out about how big around it was!
